I am happy to release the 26th issue of the Asian Journal of Government Audit. This is the 2nd issue in the e-journal format, the first one being the previous issue in October 2005.
After the October 2005 issue of the Journal we requested member SAIs to contribute actively for the journal. As approved by the 36th ASOSAI Governing Board, while inviting articles from all members, I specifically requested ten member SAIs to contribute at least one article for the next issue. I am happy to say that the responses received from the members have been encouraging.
I would like to inform that SAI-Lao PDR has become the 43rd member of ASOSAI. As the Editor of the Journal and on behalf of the entire ASOSAI fraternity, I congratulate and welcome Lao PDR on joining ASOSAI.
This is an important year for ASOSAI, as the X ASOSAI Assembly will be meeting in Shanghai, China in September 2006. Apart from professional deliberation and social interaction the ASOSAI Journal award will also be conferred for the best article published since the last assembly.
Before I end, I request all the readers to send me their ideas and suggestions to make our e-journal even more reader friendly and useful.
I look forward to the outcome of the X ASOSAI Assembly.
