His Majesty, the King of Nepal, on the recommendation of the Constitutional Council, appointed Mr. Gehendra Nath Adhikary as the 9th Auditor General of the Kingdom of Nepal on August 22, 2003. The Constitutional Council is Chaired by the Prime Minister. Other members of the Council are the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Speaker of the House of Representatives (HOR), Chairman of the National Assembly (Upper House) and the Leader of main opposition in the HOR. Mr. Bishnu Bahadur K.C. retired from the post of Auditor General of Nepal on August 16, 2003 after completing his term of 6 years.
Prior to this assignment, Mr. Adhikary was Financial Comptroller of Nepal during 1992 to 1994. He also served from 1968 to 1992 as an Assistant Auditor General.
Born in Kathmandu, Mr. Adhikary holds Bachelor’s degrees in Commerce and Law from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal. He has been decorated with medals and prizes by His Majesty the King in recognition of his outstanding performance.
Mr. Adhikary was member of various committees constituted by His Majesty’s Government of Nepal. He has notably served as member secretary in the Irregularities Clearance Committee chaired by a Member of the House of Representatives (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Nepal. In this capacity, he served six years from 1996. He has contributed articles in a number of journals and periodicals.
He has undergone several short term and long term training and scholarship programmes in USA, Israel and Canada during his service period. He has travelled to USA, Austria, Italy, South Korea, the Philippines and Australia on official visits.

Mr. Nobuaki MORISHITA, a Commissioner of the Audit Commission, the Board of Audit of Japan, was appointed as President on 20 February 2004 by the Cabinet. He succeeded Mr. Tsutomu SUGIURA who retired on 16 February 2004, completing his seven year term.
Mr. MORISHITA joined the Board in 1966, and served as director for the major audit and secretariat divisions in the 1980s, He also supervised a large number of audit and administrative activities as Assistant Director General and subsequently as Director General in the 1990s. He assumed the responsibilities of Secretary General in 1998, directing the whole audit and administrative operations performed by the General Executive Bureau, before being appointed as a Commissioner in 1999.
Through his long career at the Board, he has a good knowledge of practical auditing. Mr. Morishita is also keen to engage in international activities, with his latest experience in attending the ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting held in Manila in 2002, as the head of the delegation from SAI-Japan. He looks forward to contributing to ASOSAI activities as a Governing Board member and as the Administrator of ASOSAI Training Programs.

H.E. Maj-Gen Lunn Maung was born in Bhamo, Kachin State on 2nd March 1949.
He received his B.Sc., degree from the Defence Services Academy.
After serving in the Army in various capacities he was appointed as the Auditor General in 2003.
State positions occupied by him till date include Chairman of the Myanmar Accountancy Council, Member of the Privatization Commission, Member of the Myanmar Education Committee and Member of the ASEAN Leading Committee
H.E. Maj-Gen Lunn Maung married with three children.
His hobby is playing golf.

Datin Paduka Hajah Salmah was appointed as Auditor General of Brunei Darussalam in December 2002, the first Deputy Auditor General to be appointed to the position since 1959.
She started her career with the Brunei Treasury in 1975 where she held various positions such as Accountant, Senior Accountant, and Senior Assistant Director of Financial Services. While working in the Treasury, on several occasions she acted as Secretary to The Brunei Currency Board. The last position she held before her transfer to the Audit Department in 1994 was Senior Assistant Director of Financial Services.
Datin Paduka Hajah Salmah served as Assistant Auditor General for 2 years before her promotion to the post of Deputy Auditor General in 1994. She has played a key role in the Office’s strategic planning, policy and capacity building. One of her first priorities after taking over as the Auditor General was to initiate restructuring of the organization in line with the new mandate for the Auditor General to audit government owned companies.
She has attended several international conferences and seminars organized by INTOSAI, ASOSAI and CONTOSAI, as well as the Asian Federation of Accountants.
Datin Paduka Hajah Salmah is a fellow of The Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants of England and Wales having gained her ACCA in 1975 and being admitted as a member in 1979.
In accordance with the President Decree No. (13) for the year 2003, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah Al-Sanafi took over as the president of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing (COCA) in the Republic of Yemen on July 7th 2003.
Born in 1950, Dr. Al-Sanafi obtained his B.A Degree in the Administrative Science from the University of Baghdad 1974, a master’s Degree in Administrative Science from the University of France 1980, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Al-Mansora –Egypt, and PhD in Business Administration from the University of Asyut – Egypt 1993.

In 2001-2004, he came to the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic as Chief of Cabinet.
On February 7, 2004, Mr. D. Oskombaev was appointed by the President’s Decree as acting Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Mr. Oskombaev is an honored economist of the Kyrgyz Republic. He has the rank of a third class State Advisor of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He was born on June 12, 1957 in the Sokulik village of the Kyrgyz Republic.
