Mr. Syed Yusuf Hossain
Comptroller & Auditor General of Bangladesh

Mr. Syed Yusuf Hossain joined as Comptroller & Auditor General of Bangladesh on 8th August 1999. Prior to this he has served as Secretary in Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Culture Affairs and Additional Secretary Ministry of Industry. He has spent a substantial part of his career in Industrial and energy sectors. He has also provided valuable contribution to Corporation, Autonomous bodies and various Multi National Companies.

Outside his professional career he is actively associated with the world of sports in Bangladesh and has been twice awarded as the best sports organizer of the country by Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association.

Mr. Kunzang Wangdi
Auditor General Bhutan

Mr. Kunzang Wangdi was born on 17th July 1953. He is Master in Public Administration from the Institute of Public Administration, -Pennsylvania State University. Before being appointed as Auditor General of Bhutan on 1st January 2000 he has served in various important capacities in Government of Bhutan. He was Deputy Secretary in Royal Civil Service Commission and later on he was Director in Ministry of Trade and Industry and Royal Institute of Management.

He is also a member of various professional committees, club and commission. He has also served as one of the Directors of Board in many prestigious Government companies.

Mr. Wangdi is fond of photography, reading, trekking and cinema.

Mr. Akira Kaneko
President, Board of Audit Japan

Mr. Akira Kaneko, one of three commissioners of the Board of Audit Japan, was appointed President of the Board of Audit on 7 December 1999. He succeeds Mr. Shuro Hikita, who had retired on 26 October 1999.

Until his appointment as Commissioner of the Board in August 1997, Mr. Kaneko had been professor of law at Keio University specializing in antitrust law, international economic law, and consumer protection law. He had also held positions in various national and local government advisory boards. He has published several books and many articles in these fields. Recently, he translated "The Antitrust Laws: A Primer" (John H. Shenefield & Irwin M. Stelzer, 1998, AEI Press) into Japanese and published it in Japan.

On personal side, Mr. Kaneko enjoys playing tennis and golf, as well as taking pictures of mountains and flowers.

Mr. Jong-Nam Lee
Chairman Board of Audit and Inspection Korea

Mr. Jong-Nam Lee, was born in Seoui, Korea in September 1936. He did his LL.B. from College of Law, Korea University in Seoul, Korea, and went on to do LL.D. from School of Law, Konkook University in Seoul, Korea.

Mr. Lee passed the 12th Judiciary Examination in 1960, and passed 11th Certified Public Accountant Examination in 1964 and was president of Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 1992-1996.

Before being appointed as Chairman of Board of Audit and Inspection, Korea, Mr. Lee has held various important portfolios, for a period of 25 years from 1961-1988. He worked as Public Prosecutor, Sr. Public Prosecutor, Chief Public Prosecutor, Vice-Minister, Ministry of Justice and Prosecutor General.

With his unmatched ability and experience in the field of law he became Minister of Justice from 1990-91.

Apart from being a member of Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institution (ASOSAI) Governing Board, Mr. Lee is also the First Vice Chairman of International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

Mr. Medet Sadyrkulov
Chairman Accounts Chamber of Kyrgyzstan

Mr. Medet Sadyrkulov was born on December 13, 1953 in Kyrgyzstan. Before being appointed as Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Kyrgyzstan he had held various important portfolios. He was lecturer in Kyrgyz State Medical College, Head of Department on Organisational Work, and Administration of the President of the Kyrgyzstan Republic. Head of the Pervomai District State Administration of Bishkek city. Head of the State Tax Inspection and Head of the Administration of the President of Kyrgyz Republic.

He was appointed as the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic by the Decree of the President of Kyrgyz Republic on November 3, 1999.

Dr. Hadenan bin Abdul Jalil
Auditor General of Malaysia

Datuk Dr. Hadenan bin Abdul Jalil was appointed Auditor General of Malaysia on 13 March 2000.

Prior to his appointment as Auditor General of Malaysia, Datuk Dr. Hadenan bin Abdul Jalil was the Secretary General to the Ministry of Works.

Datuk Dr. Hadenan earned a Bachelor of Economics (Hons.) degree majoring in Accounting from the University of Malaya in 1970. Five years later he obtained a Masters of Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila. In 1986, he read his doctorate degree at the Brunei University, United Kingdom specializing in corporate planning.

He has illustrious record in the Malaysian Civil Service. He joined the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service in 1970, and had been with the Treasury for almost 28 years until January 1998. The last post he held at the Treasury was Secretary to the Finance Division. He was transferred to the Ministry of International Trade and Industries in 1998 where he held the post of Deputy Secretary General (Trade). In January 1999, he was promoted as Secretary General to the Ministry of Works.

Throughout his service, he had led governmental delegations abroad to Torums, conferences and negotiations mainly on economics and finance. He was the chairman to the ASEAN Committee on E-Commerce and ASEAN Task Force on ' Hanoi Plan of Actions' for ASEAN Vision 2020 in 1998. He was also member of the Board of Directors of several public enterprises.

Datuk Dr. Hadenan had been conferred several national awards for his distinguished contribution to the nation. He was conferred Datukship by the State Government in 1994.

Mr. Sayyid Abdul la Hamad Saif Al Busaidy
President of State Audit Oman

In November 1999, His Majesty the Sultan issued the Royal Decree on the State Audit. The Decree redesignated the SAI, changing its name from "Secretariat General for State Audit" to the "State Audit" and providing that it shall be a financially and administratively independent body.

The Royal Decree concurrently appointed HE Sayyid Abdulla Hamad Saif Al Busaidy as the President of the State Audit.

Prior to the present appointment as the President of State Audit, HE Sayyid Abdulla Hamad Saif Al Busaidy served as the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus from 1990 to 1999 and Ambassador to Tunisia from 1989 to 1990, also holding the additional post of the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate to the League of Arab States from 1989 to 1999. He was the Minister of Housing from 1986 to 1989. He entered government service in the Ministry of Land Affairs and then served in various capacities at the Omani Manuscript Organisation, the Ministry of Justice, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Ministry of Environment from 1973 to 1986.
