The ASOSAI Workshop on Computer Auditing was held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from April 19-27, 1994. 23 participants from 19 SAIs participated in the workshop, which had the following objectives :-
The recommendations of the Workshop were considered by the ASOSAI Governing Board in its 20th Meeting on November 12, 1994 and follow-up action proposed by the ASOSAI Secretariat in this connection was approved.
A Seminar on "Auditing Foreign Aid Effectiveness and Accountability" was organised under the aegis of ASOSAI at Lahore, Pakistan from March 22-28, 1995. The Seminar was jointly sponsored by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).

The Seminar was designed to create awareness of the need to gp beyond auditing financial management issues and the delivery of foreign aid with a view to improving the effectiveness and accountability of foreign aid through auditing, particularly from a recipient country perspective. 26 audit practitioners from the SAIs of Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Yemen participated in the Seminar.
In 1994, the Audit Administration of the People's Republic of China conducted four training seminars:-
These courses were held with assistance from the World Bank and 12 experts from various countries as faculty. A total of 260 Chinese auditors participated in these courses.
In addition, AAPRC also held a Sino-Holland Seminar on System Based Audit in Beijing in March-April 1994, and a Sino-U.K. Seminar on Audit Planning and Computer Audit in Beijing in October 1994.
International Training Programmes
The International Training Centre of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, New Delhi has been organizing three International Training Programmes every year in various audit disciplines for SAIs in the Asian, African and Pacific regions. During the year 1994-95, SAI- India organized the following International Training Programmes:-

57 officers from 21 SAIs including India participated in these training programmes, which were funded by the Govt. of India under various assistance schemes. The International Training Programme on "Auditing in an EDP Environment" was SAI India's first training programme on EDP Audit. Mr. C G Somiah, Comptroller & Auditor General of India, is also the Chairman of INTOSAI Standing Committee on EDP Audit. This course was organized by SAI-India in response to the needs of different member SAIs for supporting and promoting the development and dissemination of knowledge in the field of EDP/IT Auditing.
Training cum Attachment Programme for Senior Audit Managers from SAI-Uganda
A training cum attachment programme was organised by the International Training Centre of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for 10 Senior Audit Managers from the Office of the Auditor General, Uganda from May 23 to June 17,1995. The training programme covered the following areas :-
Training Course in Performance Audit in China
Two experts from SAI-Pakistan, Mr. Liaqat Ali Chaudhary and. Mr. Muhammad Jamil Bhatti, conducted a two-week training course in performance auditing at the Nanjing Auditing Institute in October 1994. The course was attended by 50 participants from SAI-China.
