Hosted by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, the Sixth Assembly and Fifth International Seminar of ASOSAI is being held at New Delhi from November 12-19,1994. The venue is Hotel Ashok which is ideally located and has all the infrastructural facilities needed. The inauguration of the Assembly will be held at 'Vigyan Bhavan'.
The Theme of the Seminar is "The Role of SAI in Promoting Effective Accounting and Adequate Internal Control System in Government" which is of topical interest to all Supreme Audit Institutions. The SAIs of Thailand, Malaysia and Korea who have been nominated as rapporteurs for the three sub-themes i) -Audit Mandate, Strategies and Methodologies in Improving Accounting and Internal Control System in Government; ii) Audit of Government Financial Statements and Reports; and iii) Resource Consideration of SAI for Ensuring Effective Accounting and Adequate Internal Control System, are preparing the comparative review papers based on the country papers received from the members in response to their principal papers.
The Secretary General of ASOSAI and President of the Board of Audit of Japan in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is hosting a workshop at Tokyo from July 5-15,1994 to consider the theme and sub-themes of the international seminar. The participants from member countries will be discussing the issues raised and will make draft recommendations for further deliberations at the New Delhi meet.
All arrangements are being made for the comfortable stay of the participants as well as the smooth functioning of the Assembly and Seminar.
