Message from the Chairman Editorial Board

The Asian Journal of Government Audit is another milestone in the progress of the ASOSAI towards attainment of its objectives. The Journal provides the members with 'still another forum for exchange of experiences and ideas in different areas of state audit.

It is the policy of the Editorial Board to encourage all member countries to contribute material for the Journal. Material from other Asian Supreme Audit Institutions, INTOSAI members, academicians, etc. would also be welcome. Significant developments are taking place in audit methodology and techniques. There is already a rich fund of experience in various fields of audit with various countries which needs to be shared with others. The Journal does not propose to confine itself to developments in accounting and auditing areas; broader areas of budgeting, financial management, etc. will also be covered.

I am happy at the response of the member countries in contributing material for this first issue of the Journal. Now that the first issue has been published, this response is bound to increase. The Editorial Board looks forward to larger contributions and, at the same time, pledges to improve the quality and contents of the Journal and make it a useful vehicle for dissemination of relevant experiences and information.
