Dr. Anwar Nasution
Chairman of the Audit Board, Indonesia

Dr. Anwar Nasution has been appointed Chairman of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia for the period of 2004-2009, replacing Dr. Satrio Budihardjo Joedono.

Anwar Nasution is Professor of Economics and former Dean at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia in Jakarta. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Tufts University, Medford, Masschusetts, USA in 1982. As a consultant to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), UN-ESCAP and UN-ECLAC, he has dealt with and published on applied macro-economics monetary economics, public finance, industrialization managing capital inflows to emerging economics in the 1990s, conducted by the World Institute for Development Economic Research (WIDER) of the United Nations University in Helsinki when he visited it as the Sasakawa distinguished professor in Development Policy during 1995-1996. As a researcher, he has visited many institutions including ISEAS (Institute of Southeast Asian Studies), IDE (International Development Economic), Kyoto University, Research School of Pacific Studies of Australian National University and National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Before being appointed as Chairman of the Audit Board, Dr. Anwar Nasution was the Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, the central bank.

The Chairman and Members of the Seven-person Board are elected by Parliament, appointed by Presidential Decree, and sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Other members elected to the Board are Mr. Abdullah Zainie (Vice Chairman), Mr. Imran, Mr. Baharuddin Aritonang, Mr. Hasan Bisri, Inspector General of Police Mr. Udju Djuhari, and Mr. I Gusti Agung Rai.

Dr. Mohammad Reza Rahimi
President of the Supreme, Audit Court of Iran

Dr. Mohammad Reza Rahimi was officially appointed as the new President of the Supreme Audit Court of Iran on the 1st November 2004. He was born in Ghorveh, Iran in 1954 and besides having studied law and obtained a Ph.D degree, he has had the following designations:

Dr Abdul Basit Turki Saeed 
President, Board of Supreme Audits in Republic of Iraq

Name: Dr Abdul Basit Turki Saeed

Graduate from College of Administration & Economy.

MSC. In public finance - the title of research is financial planning in Iraq by public budget for the state .

Ph.D. in the Financial & Monetary. The title of research is the monetary effects of the financial policy in Iraq.

The occupied positions:

Participated in supervision on many thesises in public financial fields, financial, legislations and governmental accounting. He was candidate to work as an international expert in the governmental Budgets to work within the aids of African-Arabic Bank as an advisor to the Minister of finance in Nabiah and a member in Iraqi economics society.

Dr. Abdul Basit Turki Saeed is married and has six children.

Mr. Pona Mac Kawa
Acting Auditor-General of Papua New Guinea

Mr. Pona mac kawa has been appointed Acting Auditor- General of Papua New Guinea effective on 13 September 2003.

Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Auditor-General. Mr. Kawa, having graduated with a degree in Accountancy from the University of Technology, Papua New Guinea, joined the Office of the Auditor-General in 1984 and has served in various capacities rising to the position of Deputy Auditor- General. He had also acted for the Auditor-General on several occasions.

Mr Kawa was awarded a scholarship to do his Master of Business Administration Programme in Professional Accounting at University of Central Queensland in Australia which he successfully completed in 1997.

In assuming his new duties, he commits himself to give full support to ASOSAI and INTOSAI activities..
