Bimal Raj Basnyat
Auditor General of Nepal

Mr.Bimal Raj Basnyat has been appointed as the Auditor General of the Kingdom of Nepal by His Majesty the King on the recommendation of the Constitutional Council. The term of his appoint­ment is six years from August 7,1991.

Mr.Basnyat has graduated in Commerce and Law. Besides, he holds M.S. Degree in Political Science with specialisation in Public Administration from the Wisconsin University, USA. He entered government service in 1958 and served in senior executive positions in different Ministries.' He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of corporations, namely, National Construc­tion Co. and Employees Provident Fund. He had chaired the Executive Council of Eastern Regional Organization of Public Administration (EROPA). Prior to his appointment as the Auditor General, he was the Secretary to the Ministry of General Administration of His Majesty's Government of Nepal.

In recognition of his outstanding performance in the civil service, Mr. Basnyat has been decorated with Suprabal Gorkha Dakshinbahu and Bikhyat Trisakti Patta by His Majesty the King. He has also been awarded the honorary CBE (UK).

Muhammad Naseer Ahsan
Auditor General of Pakistan

Mr.Muhammad Naseer Ahsan took oath of office of Auditor General of Pakistan on De­cember 31, 1990.

Born at Pratabgarh (United Provinces, India) in December, 1930, he was educated at the pres­tigious University of Lucknow. By securing a dis­tinguished position in the Central Superior Serv­ices Examination, he joined Accounts Group of Pakistan Civil Services in 1954. He served the Defence Services of Pakistan as Financial Ad­viser, Chief Controller of Military Accounts and Military Accountant General. Also served as Director, Finance and Administration in two important Public Sector Corporations in the country i.e. Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Re­search and Rice Export Corporation of Pakistan. Remained Director of the Railway Accounts Academy, Quetta, a premier training institution for financemanagers. He was on the panel of auditors sent by Pakistan to United Nations in 1969-70. He has vast experience in Corporate Management, Financial Manage­ment, CQSt Accounting and Public Sector/international agency Auditing. He has attended various advanced courses on Finance, Management and Development in the country and abroad.

Ahmad Mohamed Al-lryani
President, Central Organization for Control & Auditing Republic of Yemen

Consequent on the unification of the two parts of the country (North & South) on May 22,1990, the Central Organizations for Control & Auditing in both the parts have become one office with headquarters at Sana'a, the capital of the Republic.

According to a statutory decree is­sued by the Presidential Council of the Republic of Yemen on July 24, 1990, Mr.Ahmad Mo­hamed Al-lryani has been appointed as the President of the united Central Organization for Control & Auditing.

Mr.Mohamed was born in 1945 in the village of Iryan; graduated from Cairo University with B.Sc. in Economy and Political Science. He occupied many high level posts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the post of Deputy Minister. In addition to his previous position as President of the Central Organization for Control & Auditing of the North, previously called "Arab Republic of Yemen", he was the Deputy Secretary of Yemeni Peace and Integration Committee.

Adel Kodah
President, Audit Bureau of Jordan

Mr.Adel Kodah has succeeded Dr.Hashim Dabbas as the President of the Audit Bureau of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 1st November 1991 on the latter's retirement.
