I am pleased to circulate the first issue of the ASOSAI Journal which has
been long cherished since the Nairobi Governing Board Meeting suggested issuing
it.
The consecutive ASOSAI Governing Board Meetings in Malaysia and Korea emphasized that the Journal be published to further promote understanding and cooperation among member institutions through exchange of ideas and experiences in the field of Public Audit, and thus the Seoul Assembly and Governing Board Meeting held in April 1982 agreed to establish the Editorial Board which consists of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India as Chairman, the Commission on Audit of the Philippines and the Auditor General of Sri Lanka as members, to help manage its edition.
In this context, I am convinced that the Journal will be the primary source of audit information by providing the member institutions with valuable opportunities to exchange their audit ideas, so that it will help further develop the ASOSAI which still remains on the embryonic stage.
In conclusion, I cannot over-praise the Editorial Board members for the devoted efforts exerted to publish this long-awaited Journal in spite of their tight official duties.
