The 24th UN/INTOSAI Symposium has been scheduled for 31 May to 2 June 2017 in Vienna at the Vienna International Centre. This joint capacity building event is a continuation of the existing fruitful co-operation between the United Nations and INTOSAI.
The participants of the Symposium will deliberate on the topic “Digitalization, Open Data and Data Mining – Relevance and Implications for the Audit Work of SAIs, including a follow-up on the contribution of SAIs to the SDGs”. For further information regarding the content of the Symposium please see the attached draft agenda.
During the Symposium, representatives of UNDESA and INTOSAI, its participating members as well as additional participants will have the opportunity to reflect about the topic. As a goal of the Symposium, the different regional points of view and the comparison between different levels of development as well as the current implications and relevance of digitalization, open data and data mining for SAIs as well as a follow-up on the contribution of SAIs to the SDGs will be part of the reflections.
All interested heads of SAIs in ASOSAI region are invited to participate in the Symposium at their own expense. In general, admittance depends on the number of available places and the date of application. As a rule participation is confined to two participants for each delegation.
